Memorial Services for Billy Joe Lambright, 85, will be held Friday, October 6, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Jim Medley and Dennis Adams officiating, under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Private committal will be held at Dawson County Cemetery. Visitation will follow the service. Billy Joe passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in Lamesa. He was born October 7, 1931 in Jacksonville, Texas to William and Annie (Brownlow) Lambright. Billy Joe married Doris Pewitt on October 19, 1951 in Lovington, New Mexico, they were married 64 years. He served as Corporal in the United States Army from December, 9, 1952 to December 8. 1954. He received a good conduct award while serving in the Army. Billy Joe was a farmer all his life and retired at the age of 62. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports, enjoyed fishing at their lake house, and enjoyed playing dominoes at King Mesa Gin. Billy Joe is survived by his children; Jerry Lambright and wife Sallie, Randy Lambright and wife Christy, and Diane Skiles and husband Russel all of Lamesa; brother, E.G. Lambright and wife, Pat of Smyer, Texas; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Billy Joe is preceded in death by his wife, Doris; parents; and daughter, Mitzi Lambright.
